Proofreading

Proofreading is quality control − the final stage in the pre-publication process.

Proofreading checks for errors and corrects spelling, punctuation and grammar. Proofreading also includes checking for consistency and accuracy in references and footnotes.

Proofreading can be the only stage of an edit − writers with editing knowledge may want a proofread done prior to publisher consideration and businesses may want a final check with new eyes prior to publishing information.

Word reduction

Was your brief to write 500 words and you now count 1000? You would be surprised at how many words can be dropped without the message changing. This service is of particular use to business and is usually carried out with a proofread as well, essential because with the removal of some words punctuation can change.

Need 500 words instead of 1000? Words can be dropped without the message changing. Recommended to businesses, this also includes a proofread as punctuation can change.

These two paragraphs say the same thing.  Fifty six words in paragraph one changes to twenty six words in paragraph two.
